World’s Largest Gas Production and Processing Plant Will Feature CCI Valves
CCI was recently been awarded the purchase order for the design, manufacturing and supply of a complete package of control valves for phase II and III of the South Pars Gas Production and Processing plant. This multi-million-dollar order includes hundreds of control valves. It also includes both severe service valves like the 100D, and 800D DRAG® valves, and 840G cage guided valves, as well as general control valves. It is the largest contract to date obtained by CCI in the oil and gas industry.
As part of the onshore package, CCI is also supplying High Integrity Protection System (HIPS™) control valves, also called slug catcher pressure control valves.
These DRAG® control valves are 18 inches by 18 inches (457.2 millimeters by 457.2 millimeters) and 900 pounds (408 kilograms), rangeability, reliability and control resolution requirements. The technical analysis made by the contractors at the FEED stage of the project concluded that the DRAG® solution proposed was far superior to the technologies offered by the traditional HIPS valve suppliers and could satisfactorily fulfill all the requirements of that application.
All the control valves will be shipped to the site from both the CCI Swiss and Korean factories where they were designed during the first and second quarters of 2000.
