A Heroic Feat for Valliant Paper Mill

The danger of leakage was becoming a reality for Weyerhaeuser’s Valliant paper mill in Oklahoma, USA. The existing valves were leaking and experiencing trim damage. Because most fluids are erosive, a small leak through the valve will result in rapid deterioration of the seating surfaces.

Pleased with other existing DRAG® valves installed at the Valliant mill, Weyerhaeuser again approached CCI for a solution to the problem of their drum blowdown application. The 2-in. x 2-in. (50-mm x 50-mm) replacement valve is designed to achieve the highest reliability and provides all the benefits of CCI’s proven DRAG® technology. DRAG® valves feature a unique tortuous path assembled from a series of disks each with several flow passages etched onto the surface. This eliminates problems resulting from excessive fluid velocities such as trim and body erosion.

Recently an engineer from Weyerhaeuser installed a 100DSV spraywater valve at his plant and absolutely loved the control and reliability that the CCI valve offered. However, he had a problem with a leaky valve that was installed in a parallel unit. His confidence in CCI was such that he called in ready to purchase the spraywater valve. CCI’s quick turnaround approach managed to have the order for the spraywater valve out by noon on the same day.
