KEPCO Chooses Advanced Control Valve Technology for Ulchin Nuclear Power Plant
Korean Electric Power Corporation has recently placed a multi-million-dollar ( U.S. ) order for CCI turbine bypass, minimum-flow, atmospheric-dump, and other severe-service control valves for two of its four 1000-MW PWRs at the Ulchin Nuclear Power Plant in South Korea .
CCI is especially pleased to receive this order, which is based largely on KEPCO’s past excellent experience with similar CCI advanced technology, namely the severe-service control valves at their four 1000-MW PWR units at the Yong Gwang Nuclear Power Plant and the 1000-MW PWRs, Units 1 and 2, previously installed at the Ulchin Plant.
The valves in this latest award from KEPCO include both CCI’s DRAG® and advanced globe valve technologies, which over the years have been proven to be capable of reliably handling high pressure drops, where required, with low noise and vibration, a high degree of controllability, and long service life.
