Poor Control of Spraywater Solved for SK Energy in Denmark

Uncontrolled 1st and 2nd superheater spraywater in existing valves has led to the replacement of spraywater valves at SK Energy’s Stigsnaesvearket power station in Denmark .

The six new 2-inch (50-millimeter) DRAG® valves are rated at up to 62,000 pounds/hour (28 kilograms/hour) with inlet pressures of 3300 psig (227 barG) and DPs of 600 psi (41 bar) at a temperature of 530 F (277 C).

These replacement spraywater valves are designed for a very high rangeability of 50:1. In order to provide for the rangeability, control accuracy, and repeatability required, the valves are provided with specially designed, characterized disk stacks that limit trim-exit velocity to less than 100 feet/second (30 meters/second).
