Women of Power Dedicate Mirant’s Apex Generating Station

Migrant’s state-of-the-art 550 MW combined cycle 2 on 1 power plant was dedicated by Anne Cleary – Mirant Vice President, Western Region; Marce Fuller — Mirant President and CEO; Mary Kincaid-Chauncey – Chair Clark County Commission; and Lt. Governor Lorraine T. Hunt. The March 28, 2003 ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the plant’s site in southern Nevada and was attended by key Mirant personnel and the project’s prime vendors and contractors.

The Apex Generating Plant has been permitted for 1100 MW, and Phase II construction for another 550 MW station will take place at a later date.

CCI supplied the majority of the severe service control valves for this project, including the turbine bypass valves, with involvement from early design concepts through installation, commissioning, and continued operational support.
